How our custom parsing solutions helped one of the world’s top rating agencies.
The Challenge
Solvency II data extraction presents a number of challenges to obtain accurate output. Some documents may contain multiple entities. The challenge here is to ensure the extracted data is associated with the relevant entity. Many documents do not contain SRC codes, making it difficult to map values to their corresponding code. Foreign language documents can add an extra layer of complexity when mapping values to SRC codes. There are also a large number of tables in each Solvency II document, which vary greatly for each schedule code.
Our Results
By working with Semantic Extract, tables were identified accurately, features such as stemmed match, allowed our clients to deal with nuances in the document and our classifier allowed them to match tables to schedules.
We provide the highest accuracy for Solvency II documents, with 99.9% accuracy across all schedules. In addition, we shaved 88% off our clients data extraction processing time.
The need for custom parsing in the context of Solvency II White Paper
For one of our clients, a global ratings agency, Solvency II brought new challenges to data extraction. Our team has written a white paper about four of the key impacts of Solvency II and how we solved for them. The first one is the complexity of the tabular data found in Solvency II documents.
